Seven Measures to Improve the Reliability of Engine Spindle Bearings

The main shaft bearing is the most important component in the engine. If the main shaft bearing fails, it will directly cause the engine to stop running. In order to improve the reliability of the engine, we must take certain measures to improve the efficiency of bearing use. Based on our understanding of various aspects of bearing knowledge, Zhonghua Bearing Network can share it with everyone. We can consider seven aspects to improve the reliability of engine spindle bearings.
Seven measures can improve the reliability of engine spindle bearings:
1. Improve machining accuracy. Improve the machining accuracy of each component of the bearing, which should not be lower than level 4 accuracy, and correctly select reasonable clearance and fitting values during assembly. During assembly, bearings should be inspected according to the specific technical conditions, such as appearance inspection, checking for surface defects and rust that exceed the specifications, and rechecking the dimensions and original clearance of the mating parts.
2. The deviation between the bearing ring and the axis should not be large. When high reliability is required for bearings with long lifespan, the deviation between the bearing ring and the axis should not exceed the allowable standard under working conditions (for bearings with a lifespan greater than 1000 hours, the deviation should not exceed 0.5 ').
3. Use a 3-point contact ball bearing. Replacing the 4-point contact ball bearing with a 3-point contact radial thrust ball bearing can improve the reliability of the bearing.
4. Steel cage. Replace the bronze cage with a steel cage (commonly used in Russian engines), and the surface of the cage should be preferably silver plated.
5. The temperature difference between the inner and outer rings is less than 5 ℃. If the heat of the bearing can be effectively taken away and maintained over the width of the bearing, and there is a relatively uniform temperature field between the outer rings, and the temperature difference between the inner and outer rings is not greater than 5 ℃, the reliability of the bearing can be improved.
